The new look website

Well I was meant to be relaxing with the children for a week off, but you know what it's like you get bored , you get the laptop out whilst the kiddies play and you fiddle with the website ..... for a whole week!

Well it's looking good I'm yet to be 100% happy with it but then I don't think anyone with an artistic side is ever happy with things. I shall keep working on the site until I'm relatively happy so watch out for more changes.

The perfect sunday roast - Yummy cake!

Well when the phone rang this week i expect my usual sort of call " Hi , i love your cakes , can i order a nice plain cake for my son's birthday, not too fussy and not too much detail on it please. It won't be too expensive will it? "  Well this time i was pleasantly suprised to get told they were doing a children's themed party for their 21yr old son and they wanted a sunday dinner as his cake , as long as it was a pork joint i had free reign over the design. So as i havent ever tried pork i did some research into what a pork belly joint looks like as they were specific about it needing plenty of crackling. Then i got to work first came the roast potatoes flled with rice crispie treats and covered in fondant and fondant carrotts. 

They were just part of the design though so i then got on with making the huge joint of meat, a nice big piece with lots of crackling, glazed and roasted. I then painted the chopping board to look like wood. 

Then came the time to put everything together , I added in some peas and here you go ..... my Ideal roast Vanilla cake ! 

Yes i'm still alive, i just forgot to blog!

Well so many months have gone by since my last blog Hmmmm what have i been upto. Well i have been baking like crazy, teaching cupcake classes and enjoying my little rascals growing up! I will upload just a few cakes for you to enjoy ill do some cupcakes soon.

Mother's Day

Mother's day is a great time to show your lovely Mum just how much you appriciate all of her hard work over the years, I expect lots of breakfasts in bed were made yesterday.

My latest design , perfectly girly

I was given the brief that the birthday girl loved shoes of all sorts. So i got to work on a nice glam girly shoe cake. It went down really well and the birthday girl has emailed to say how she loved the design.

WOW now thats a dress id like to eat !

I was trying to think of what i would next share with you and i think it has to be this crazy creation. I was searching for something totally different when this popped up and apparently its totally made out of cream puffs! it weighs 20lbs and is totally edible.
Now I'm not sure about you but i know what id be doing on my wedding night if this was my dress !!!

Help a loved up bride to be get her hubby to be down the aisle

A loved up couple from Swindon ( my home town ) have agreed that if she gets 1 million facebook fans they will get married on 11/11/11 . it seems like such a high number but wouldn't it be great to help her get to it. Worlds oldest wedding cake!

Here is the worlds oldest wedding cake! Made in 1898 this cake has recently been donated to a museum where it can rest for its retirement. For this old cake has seen many things, its been on display in a bakers window and survived bombing in the war. It's icing has browned with age but would have originally been white to show purity. although you would be forgiven for not wanting to tuck in apparently the cake is still moist 113 years after being baked!

I doubt any of my cakes will get past the first few days, they always seem to get munched so quick. However in some cultures keeping a slice of wedding cake and placing it under your pillow is surposed to make you dream of the person you will marry, your one true love.

And so the spring cleaning commences, watch out Ebay i'm on my way!

I have decided the house is too cluttered, we have filled a hippo bag with things we are unable to recycle or give away its totally emptied the garage and for the first time since we brought this house we can finally see that you should get a car in there, all be it a very tiny one for a very small person.
If you haven't heard of hippo bags yet let me enlighten you. http://www.hippobagonline.co.uk/ sell 2 types of bag both nice and big to hold lots of your household clutter. You simply purchase a bag from one of the chosen retail outlets. Most DIY stores sell them . Then fill it and when your ready call and pay a collection fee. Its much cheaper than a skip and over 80% of what they collect from you gets recycled. Which i thought was fab!
I have made room for my ever growing cake making kit and i now even have room for more. I shall be planning a trip to this years cake show to stock up more don't worry, i never miss a chance to shop.

Now is a great time to have a clear out, the recycling centres are usually quieter as people tend to wait for the good weather. The Hippo Bags are a great ideal if your unable to fit all your clutter into your car especially with the convenient option of having it collected when you like. I seem to have the spring cleaning bug now and I'm looking for the next little area to declutter no area of the home will be safe this week.

Something to help your little lady plan her royal wedding of the future !

I was browsing online today thinking of all the lovely brides I've been speaking to, when i stumbled across this little set from ELC . I think i will have to buy my little girl a set so she can plan her royal wedding of the future.
ELC Royal wedding happyland set . It would make a great bridesmaids gift for the little ones. I wonder if Kate and William will model their day on this little set, they are rather cute.

A night filled with wedding fun !

I will be taking part in the Brides night out event in Swindon tomorrow evening from 7-10pm . There will be lots of great things to try. Hair dressers showing you how to do your hair for the big day,  beauticians doing make up , false eyelash tutorials etc. Oh and i will have lots of yummy cake !!!!

Hi everyone ..... oh wait its just me so far .. Hmmmm I need some followers don't I!
Well ill get started and hopefully one day little old lonely me will have a few very bored people who will take pity and join in my fun.
I have been in business now for just over a year , i started out with my first ever cake which was made in a rush for my lovely Mum. Sadly she passed away just a few short months later, But what she said about loving the cake has always stuck with me. So i decided when she passed away that i would start my own business designing and selling cakes. I started out very slowly making fun 3D styled cakes, with lots of details and a little injection of the birthday persons personality. I had some lovely comments from the cakes and I haven't looked back. I am now doing wedding cakes too and i would like to think i get better with every cake as i learn more and more.

I will be using this blog to share business news, events and new designs. Plus a little bit of me and what i like. If i find any great companies who i feel give great service and products i will share those with you too.

I hope i do find a few followers along the way it will be a fun journey i promise.
